Commercial and Personal Lines Account Manager
King Risk Partners is one of the fastest-growing agencies among the top 100 U.S. brokers, with 50 years of expertise delivering tailored commercial and personal coverage. In this role you will own the day-to-day relationship for a mixed book of business, turning complex risk into clear protection so clients stay with us and producers can keep winning new accounts. Your work directly fuels retention, referrals, and the next chapter of our expansion across the Eastern and Southeastern United States.
Performance Objectives
- Manage a complex book of Property & Casualty business, including large, multi-state, or specialty-focused accounts.
- Lead and execute all new business, renewal, endorsement, and cancellation workflows with precision and within established timelines.
- Oversee and proactively manage renewal strategies, collaborating with Client Advisors on marketing approaches, coverage design, and negotiation tactics.
- Serve as a technical expert, providing guidance on coverage interpretation, carrier requirements, underwriting considerations, and best practices.
- Conduct advanced risk and exposure analysis, including loss-run evaluation, trend identification, and coverage recommendations.
- Prepare and review applications, supplemental forms, and underwriting submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Market accounts to carriers, perform online rating, coordinate negotiations, and secure competitive terms aligned with client needs.
- Bind coverage in compliance with carrier authority and ensure all subjectivities are satisfied.
- Review issued policies for accuracy and coordinate corrections while maintaining quality control standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and strategic support.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, carrier appetite, and regulatory updates to advise clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in mentoring and supporting Account Managers and Account Assistants as needed.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, process improvements, and team success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Environment & Resources
You will report to the Service Team Lead and sit within a collaborative unit of account managers, producers, and claims specialists. You will work in a modern AMS environment with full carrier portals, marketing support, and a dedicated claims advocate. Your success is measured by retention, service speed, and producer partnership.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years servicing both commercial and personal lines accounts in an independent agency or brokerage, with proven retention results.
- Active Property & Casualty license (or ability to obtain within 60 days) and comfort navigating multiple carrier platforms.
- Track record of processing high-volume policy changes, certificates, and renewals with near-zero error rates.
- Ability to translate coverage language into plain-English recommendations that clients and producers trust.
- Experience using an agency management system (Epic, Applied, or similar) to keep files complete and searchable.
- Professional insurance designations (CIC, CRM, CPCU, or equivalent) preferred.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior team members strongly preferred.
Role Selling Points
- Join a top-100 broker that is still founder-led and growing fast, giving you real influence on process and client experience.
- Hands-on culture: you work directly with local producers and decision-makers, not a distant call center.
- Full suite of products (habitational, surety, private client, employee benefits) so you can deepen relationships instead of referring out.
- 50-year reputation plus national carrier access, yet a team small enough that your contributions are visible.
- Extensive perks and benefits.
- Growth and advancement opportunities.
